SKB Drafting and Design is located in Northwest Kansas. 

  - I grew up in South Central Nebraska working for my Father (Residential Construction) and my Uncle (Commercial Construction) learning the processes from the ground up.

  - In 1978 I joined the U.S. Army and after my separation, worked in Residential and Commercial construction as well worked for several years as an ASE Certified Master Auto Technician.

  - Working full time during the day I went to school in the evenings for Computer Aided Drafting and Design and started my first job in the industry at an MEP  (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing) firm while continuing my education in the evenings in Electrical Engineering.

  - Starting out as an AutoCAD drafter, worked into roles as a Mechanical / Electrical Designer and began working for small and large Architectural firms on the side working in Residential, Commercial and Industrial Drafting and Design .

  - 20+ years ago, I began my journey as a contractor, working for some of the top Commercial and Industrial Engineering firms in the World as a Designer and Lead Designer, Electrical / Instrumentation Engineer and Project Engineer while continuing my work in Residential and Commercial Architectural projects on the side...

  - I have worked to become proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, MicroStation, MicroStation 3D, PDS (Plant Design System), Smart Plant 3D and most recently learned Revit (an Autodesk 3D modeling program), approximately 7 years ago.

  - After tiring of contract work with 1 to 3 years here and there, being laid off due to COVID cutbacks in August 2020, I decided to take my knowledge and experience and branch out on my own.

  - Hence, the birth of SKB Drafting and Design.

  - With the desire to get back to the rural Midwest where we belong, we relocated to rural Northwest Kansas leaving the hustle and bustle of the big cities behind in April 2021 at which time our LLC was created, becoming SKB Drafting and Design, LLC.

  **I have carried certain philosophies with my throughout my life based on how I was was raised considering it a sign of virtue and moral character;

  - Honesty; Be open, trustworthy and truthful with your clients.

  - Integrity; Maintain strong ethical or moral principles and follow them at all times, no matter who's watching or if nobody is watching.

  - Transparency; Always be open and honest and operate in a manner that makes it easy for others to see what actions are being performed.

  - Accountability; Be willing to accept responsibility for your actions.
